Capt. Vikram Batra was awarded India's highest military decoration for valour, Param Vir Chakra for his actions during 1999 Kargil War. He was martyred during 'Op Vijay' in the Battle of Point 5140 and Point 4875 after a bloody and fierce fight with the Pakistanis.
